WMRSASC operates a helpline for survivors.

Please ring: 03456 461188

Mondays from 6.00pm till 8.00pm
Tuesdays from 1.00pm till 5.00pm
Thursdays from 6.00pm till 8.00pm
Fridays from 10.00am till 2.00pm

At any other time there is an answerphone you can leave a message on.

If you want us to ring you back, please make sure you speak clearly and leave a number that is safe for us to call and speak to you on.

All our helpline workers are specially trained to listen and talk to you about whatever you want to tell us. We might ask questions to help us understand how you are feeling or to help you talk about it. You don’t have to answer them, whatever you want to tell us is completely up to you. If you need to hang up or don’t want to carry on talking for any reason, that’s ok, you can call us back another time.

If someone tells you they have been sexually harassed or abused at work

If you are working within an organisation you will have a process or policy to follow. It is important that you are honest about what you will do with the information that has been shared with you. The person who has disclosed to you needs to know that you are trustworthy. Being honest about what will happen with any information that has been shared with you, is an important part of this. Do not make promises you cannot keep particularly where this relates to safeguarding. Purple Leaf work within an empowerment model. This model focuses on being led by what the person making the disclosure wants you to do, providing them with information so that they can be in control (as much as possible) and to make informed choices as to what the next steps might be. Believing, being non-judgemental and being genuine in your response to their disclosure are all vital aspects in your response.

Purple Leaf can provide you with support and guidance to help you with this process.
